The Pumpkin Farm

Well, I can officially say that our life is crazy with three kiddos, work, home, etc. And, that might just be the reason why I haven't posted anything since Paige turned one in June!

We went to Hall's Pumpkin Farm, just a few blocks from our neighborhood. The boys weren't interested in wearing their costumes, but were keen on the idea of Paige wearing hers. Here are a few shots of the evening.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

At the ripe old age of 1, Paige had blonde hair, green-ish eyes and a strong will. She pushes bar stools around like they were feathers, she races down the hallways on all fours to catch her brothers, she likes catfood - based solely on taste, eats cheerios, says "more" and "all done" with sign language, and is an all around happy girl, unless she is hungry.

Kindergarten Graduation

AUSTIN'S BIG DAY
Austin is now a 2nd year Glenhope Gator - otherwise known as a 1st grader. Graduation was a cute little ceremony where they sang "First Grade, First Grade" set to the tune of "New York, New York".

The graduates all wore men's long sleeve button down white shirts - backwards as their gowns. They paraded around the school and all the other grades sat in the hallways to cheer them on.

Eggs to Dye For...

Easter weekend was wonderful. The boys dyed eggs and added some glitter. Austin let me know that he does not want to crack his green one. He wants to keep "him" safe forever! We went camping at Lake Grapevine (the boys and Ed camped, Paige and I returned home late in the evening, after the egg hunt, scooter rides, water battles, grilled fajitas and fresh guacamole, white wine and a sunset. Paige and I made it to church so she could show off her fun, green Easter dress.

Snow Day

Last week was the culmination of an unusually cold and wet winter in north Texas. Grapevine got ~8 inches of snow! Ed and the kids got the day off from school and fun was had by all.

Snow Tunnel

Ed constructed a snow tunnel with fallen branches and packed snow. The boys, including the neighbors enjoyed the tunnel, but really enjoyed destroying it the next day.

Snowy the Snowman

Aidan built his snowman and pecan shell eyes, a cool hat and juice from holly berries to make the mouth.

Austin is 6

Wow - time is flying by. Our little Ausitn turned 6. He wanted a "war" party at the house. If it had been warmer weather we would have played capture the flag in the yard, but seeing as it is actually January, it was necessary to stay in side. This year Austin was willing to invite girls (although we didn't). He said since it was a war party they could just watch.
So 10 boys got decked out in camo (except for Austin who always seems to change his mind on the day of). We painted their faces, handed out dog tags and tatoos and sent them on their way to basic training with Ed. They enjoed the jungle crawl through the hallway and just ranning around, playing war and doing some nerf gun target practice.
Ed tried to get the boys to work on some "first aid" training. He had one of our friends posing as an injured soldier. When he asked the boys what they should do (hoping they would shout something like "Get the Medic"), he got responses like - "Take over command" and "Kill him". Alas, none of these lads are likely to be medics.
